Harry Styles spotted gambling as One Direction get told off by POLICE for speeding from fans

Harry Styles, 19, has reportedly been given a dressing down by One Direction management for gambling after he lost A LOT of money.

On top of that, One Direction have also been told off for speeding away from the paparazzi and going through three red lights to escape the snappers.

Not a great week for the boys.

Harry was snapped playing roulette in an Australian casino in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Despite Hazza having the lucky number '17black' tattooed on him to celebrate his love of roulette, it's thought that on this particular occasion he lost a fair amount of money.

However, it's not the first time One Direction have run into trouble after gambling.

The lads were told off after they blew a shed load of cash as they celebrated turning 18. At the time, Niall Horan said: "Let's just say it got a bit ugly and a lot of money was lost. A lot. When our management found out, we got a serious dressing-down about it."
But it's not just the boys' management who have told them off recently - the Australian police are less than impressed after they sped through three red lights on a highway trying to escape a following pack of fans.

Police minister Liza Harvey said: "It’s an operational matter for police but I would encourage One Direction to pull their head in in Western Australia and set an example for their predominantly young fans."
She continued: "It’s a clear message for everyone who uses our roads. We have really strong legislation in this state and that applies to everybody who visits here."

Harry Styles straddled by blonde in private snap

Harry Styles has been linked to yet another blonde after One Direction's resident ladies' man was snapped getting hot and heavy with a pretty model.
He may be in the midst of 1D's Aussie tour Down Under but that hasn't stopped Hazza from getting into trouble thanks to the leak of a raunchy private picture of him with Paige Reifler.
In Instagram shots taken in a New York apartment, the pop star can be seen pulling his typical goofy faces, but another shot of Paige straddling Harry is a bit more interesting, to say the least...
Their heads are obstructed in the picture, uploaded to Instagram by his mate Walter Martinez, but fans have spotted Harry's distinctive arm tattoos, while the girl sitting on top of him is wearing the exact same floral shorts as Paige. Naughty!
Predictably, Paige has been subjected to some serious online abuse from Directioners, joining the likes of Harry's former flames Caroline Flack, Cara Delevingne and Taylor Swift.
She took to Walter's Instagram page and begged him to take down the images, writing, "This is no way to get back at me... Walter c'mon now! Take this down now!! Seriously not cool at all..."
And the drama heated up when she tweeted: "Revenge is childish. I hope you're happy."
We think Tay Swift said it best: Harry really is trouble, trouble, trouble!

Diana Vickers: I was too tipsy to ask Simon Cowell what he thought of my singing on the One Direction advert!

After a two-and-a-half year absence, she’s back on the music scene.

Diana Vickers admitted she was a little too tipsy to talk to Simon Cowell at a recent party. Copyright [Rex]With a new album and singing the official song for One Direction’s new perfume advert, things are going rather well for Diana Vickers.

But there’s one man who hasn’t shared his critique of her appearance on the commercial, Mr Simon Cowell.

Speaking exclusively to omg! Diana, 22, admitted that she hadn’t yet heard what her former X Factor judge thought of her rendition of  the classic song 'Favourite Things', missing out on an opportunity because she had one too many glasses of champers.

She told us: “No I’ve not heard from him! I was a the same party as him and there was one point when I was going to go up and say hello but I had too many champagnes and thought, 'this isn’t going to go down well'.

“George [my boyfriend] was like ‘go, go he’ll definitely speak to you’ but I was like NO! I’ve had too many champagnes.”

Diana Vickers features on the new One Direction perfume advert. Diana was personally chosen to sing on the advert by the boys, a real coup come Christmas when it hits TV screens across the country.

Speaking about how it all came about, Diana explained: “I know the boys and they are with my management. They really wanted a girl to sing on the advert, they really wanted that song and I think I came up in a meeting.

“They were just like ‘yeah Diana definitely, get Diana to sing on it’.

“So I tried it, they heard it and they loved it. So it was really nice of them to let me be a part of it. Obviously they are a huge campaign at the moment.

“It’s a really great song from my favourite film ever and I think it’s going to come on telly nearer Chri
As we all know, perfume makes everyone smell a awful lot better, but which of the One Direction boys does Diana think smells the best?

“Harry! I think Harry smells the best,” she said.

“I can’t remember what of. My favourites are Harry and Niall so I’ll have to say they smell the best. I think I know them the best - Niall is really funny, entertaining and genuine and I think the same about Harry, he’s very grounded and sweet.”

This week, Diana released her follow-up album to her debut number one record, ‘Songs from the Tainted Cherry Tree’.

Diana Vickers is very excited for the release of her second album. After working on 'Music to Make the Boys Cry' for the best part of two years, Diana is understandably excited to finally release it.

“It’s been a while and I’ve had this obviously for a long time so I’m really excited to get it out there. The fans are all really excited and keep tweeting me,” she said.

“I’m just grateful that I’ve got the chance to get this body of work out there and get people to hear it. I’m not really too fussed about the chart position.”

When we received the press release for the album, we couldn’t help but notice the description of it having a selection of '80s tinged bangers'.

So what is an 80s tinged banger?

“80s banger is a real feel good 80s pop song so kind of like Girls Just Wanna Have fun - so if you like that then get the album,” she explained.

The album art for the album also caused somewhat of a stir when it was unveiled last month, showing Diana in an open tailored red suit with nothing on underneath.

Diana Vickers caused quite the stir with her album cover. Explaining why she decided on the picture, Diana told us: “I just think it’s a bit of an iconic shot. Compared to the others ones we had it just seemed a bit more different and womanly.

“I think that is what I wanted to put across but in a bit more of a discreet way rather than getting my bangers out - my 80s tinged bangers!

Ed Sheeran Creates New "Boobs" Lyrics for Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" (WATCH!)

  • :D

We just LOVE Ed Sheeran!

Not only can he sing his butt off but the guy is a total charmer and hilariously funny too.

While visiting a radio station recently, the British singer talked about partying with country group and tour mates Florida Georgia Line. During his interview, he gave the station a quick performance of his version of the guys' song "Cruise" and it was pretty epic!

In typical Ed fashion, he totally killed the song. Then he played "his version" of their song, one with dirty lyrics, of course!

"Baby got a thong / She makes me wanna pull her t-shirt down / Boobs...," are the lyrics Ed made up. LOL!

Watch him perform both versions of "Cruise" in the video above! (Jump to the 5:00 mark!)

Florida Georgia Line aren't the only famous guys Ed likes to party and hang with. He recently had the WORST guys' night out ever when he hung with Gavin DeGraw!

One Direction's Liam Payne branded a hero after his quick thinking ‘saved friend’s life’ when his flat balcony went up in flames

He was caught up in a nightmare explosion earlier this week.

The 20-year-old’s school friend Andy Samuel was engulfed in flames after a gas lantern he was lighting exploded.

He suffered from 20% burns on his arms, legs and chest but according to his stepfather Matthew Baker, Andy could have been much more seriously injured if it wasn’t for Liam.

He told The Daily Mirror: "We are so grateful to Liam because he saved his life.

"The lantern just exploded as Andy was lighting it and it took the full force of the flames.

Liam is reportedly still in shock over what happened.

Matthew continued: "What happened was absolutely awful. My son is very poorly. I've spoken to Liam on the phone and he told me exactly what happened.

Two other attendees at Liam’s flat were also taken to hospital to be treated for superficial burns.

An ambulance and fire brigade were called after the explosion with it taking 35 fire fighters to put out the fire that has since destroyed Liam’s balcony.

It seems that pop has a new hero.

Zayn Mailk and Perrie Edwards to ‘marry by Christmas’ before One Direction tour separates them for months

Nothing like a bitter comment from an aged rock star, eh?
Noel Gallagher is definitely not a One Direction fan.
Yep, Noel Gallagher has stuck the boot into One Direction saying that they are ‘pretty f**king dreadful’ and ‘murdered’ Blondie with their version of One Way or Another.

Despite the track hitting the number one spot and raising a stupid amount of money for charity, the Oasis star still is very much unimpressed.

Ranting *ahem* speaking to GQ magazine, Noel said: "Pretty f**king dreadful, the music is. I can't get my head round pop music. It's all on the same frequency.”

"It all seems designed to aggravate my teeth. You know music that makes your teeth hurt?”

Er, we reckon you might want to go see a dentist if this carries on.

Noel Gallagher has gone all ranty on the subject of One Direction.

Still, Gallagher continued: "Everybody's winning out of it. One Direction aren't working in the local f**king Costcutter, so they're winning.”

"The geezer who's writing the f**king s**t tunes - he's winning. He's got f**king new houses coming out of his earholes.”

"The record company are winning - 'cos they're all getting their f**king bonuses at Christmas.

"The young 12-year-old girls are winning because one day they might actually grow up to give one of them a blowjob. They're all winning. No-one's losing.”

Well, apart from the people with hurty teeth, surely?

"The only people who are losing are idiots like me at 9.30 in the morning when you're trying to get the kids out the door for school, and they're f**king murdering one of Blondie's songs," the former Oasis star added.

Ah yes, just as we thought.

Plus, it wasn’t just One D that were in for a Gallagher tongue lashing, Radio One was also in for a kicking.

"There's a lack of soul on Radio 1. I mean, what is going to be the future of chart music?" he added.

We're not sure Noel but for the meantime there is always Radio 2? Much less hurty for your teeth.

Review: Grand Theft Auto V

Gizmag reviews Grand Theft Auto V, the long-anticipated next chapter from Rockstar Games
If you have a successful gaming franchise, there are two approaches you can take. You can follow the Call of Duty blueprint, and, like clockwork, churn out a new cash cow every holiday season. Or you can take Rockstar Games' approach, take your old sweet time, and deliver the best damn game you can possibly deliver, no matter how long it takes. It's been a long time coming, but Rockstar's latest, Grand Theft Auto V, shows just what a game can be when its developers give it the time and attention it deserves. Read on, as Gizmag reviews GTA V.

Three amigos, one very big city

The size of the virtual city is nothing short of astounding
After spending the last full Grand Theft Auto game (and its two follow-up episodes) in the fictional version of New York known as Liberty City, Rockstar now takes us back to Los Angeles ("Los Santos"), which we last saw in the fan favorite GTA: San Andreas. This not only sets the table for parodies on celebrity worship, class separation, and plastic surgery, it also makes for the biggest playground a sandbox game has ever provided.
The scope of the city this time around is mind-boggling. In fact, "city" doesn't even cover it, because you get not only a much bigger urban area (including versions of famous LA landmarks like the Chinese Theater, Santa Monica Pier, and the Getty), but surrounding rural areas as well. PreviousGTA games gave you a virtual city to wreak havoc in. Grand Theft Auto Vgives you a virtual region to wreak havoc in.
Michael, Franklin, and Trevor are believable and well fleshed out
That havoc is wreaked this time around by three protagonists, instead of the lone anti-hero that every previous Grand Theft Auto gave us. We have Michael, the retired bank robber whose happy ending isn't going quite as planned, Franklin, the young protégé with dreams of being a legitimate businessman, and Trevor, who's psychotic enough to give any "crazy" character in the entire history of fiction (from Aaron the Moor to Norman Bates to Hannibal Lector) a run for his money.
But just because the three playable characters can be summed up in quick synopses doesn't mean they play out like caricatures, as so many video game characters are wont to do. They may live in a world of satire, but Michael, Franklin, and Trevor feel as human as any gaming characters we've seen.

The human element

Michael's retirement isn't quite as peachy as he expected it to be
Part of that can be chalked up to some very human-looking animations (which may have used an element of motion capture as well). But a lot of it comes back to spot-on voice acting and authentic-sounding dialogue. Ned Luke (Michael), Shawn Fonteno (Franklin), and Steven Ogg (Trevor) hit all the right notes for their respective roles, representing three radically different cultural backgrounds with equal authenticity. Most supporting characters hit it out of the park as well, though one of Trevor's lackeys, who sounds like he walked off the set of The Dukes of Hazzard, is a notable exception.
Voice acting is too often ignored as a make-or-break component of video game storytelling. See Heavy Rain as an example of an engaging story that was almost ruined by ridiculously off-key voice-overs. But Rockstar's cast, writers, and casting team nailed this one on the head.

Of violence and satire

One particular scene features over-the-top violence, which doubles as over-the-top satire
That level of character authenticity achieves another end. It makes the disturbing parts of GTA V (and, trust us, there are some extremely disturbing parts) that much more gut-wrenching. Twelve years ago, shooting someone in the head in Grand Theft Auto III may have been shocking, but it was so cartoon-like it was almost impossible to take seriously. In GTA V, superb HD graphics, much better voice actors, and top-notch animators combine to make scenes of torture and murder that much more grizzly.
Some would call GTA V's violence gratuitous. It is about as violent as a game can be, and you can often determine just how violent it becomes, both on-mission and off. But that violence is almost always tied to over-the-top satire that makes a statement about modern society, capitalism, and the hypocrisies that go along with them.
Planes, trains, and automobiles ... will all blow up at some point
If you remind yourself that GTA is every bit as satirical as a Saturday Night Live sketch or an old Mad Magazine spoof, then the gruesome parts are easier to stomach. The torture is disturbing, but it's simultaneously poking fun at a reality that's much more disturbing. That's the point Rockstar is making. I imagine the game's creators are laughing at the predictable outrage many are expressing about the game's more shocking moments, while evening news reports about waterboarding and Guantanamo Bay are diplomatically branded as "controversial."
If you're going to get worked up about a piece of fiction that's heavy on gruesome violence, sexual innuendo, and biting social satire, then that's your call. But maybe you should start with Shakespeare, and then work your way up to GTA.

Gameplay

Trevor is about as psychotic a character you could imagine ... yet somehow remains sympath...
Of course, alongside the story, themes, and shock value is an actual video game. Here Rockstar uses its past GTA games as a starting point, doesn't deviate too far from that, but adds improvements in all the right places. You're still jacking cars, running from the cops, and getting yourself into an ever-escalating series of unfortunate events (which leads to ever-more creative means of getting out of them). But the ante is upped, and the fun value is multiplied.
The biggest change is the ability to switch among the three main characters. You can do this while off-mission (seeing what Trevor has been up to when you switch back to him is always entertaining), but the real prize is while you're on mission. Many missions include two or three of the main characters, and you'll usually get to play all of them at different points during the mission.
It's a familiar Grand Theft Auto gameplay formula, only with some exciting new twists
There are points in missions where the game will determine who you're controlling, but there are also times when you can choose. So you can be Trevor, infiltrating the drug dealers' base head-on with fearless rage, Franklin, trying to sneak in from the back side, or Michael, camped out on a hilltop with a sniper rifle covering for his (sometimes) buddies.
Another big addition is special abilities. Each character has a different ability, which borrows from Red Dead Redemption's and Max Payne's slow-motion bullet time. Michael can slow down time to make sure his shots are hitting all the right targets. Trevor can do something similar, only he also takes less damage and inflicts unusually gruesome damage on his opponents. Franklin, meanwhile, can slow down time while driving, to avoid that nasty collision with the oncoming tractor trailer.
Franklin is one of GTA V's three protagonists
The special abilities are all limited by a yellow bar at the bottom of your screen, and they take a little while to recharge. We found it to be a good balance of making things more fun, without making things too easy.
Speaking of abilities, there's a little bit of an RPG element this time around too. Each character has a set of stats for things like driving, stamina, and flying. Some characters are more naturally gifted in certain areas (Franklin is a great driver, Trevor is an experienced pilot), but the more you do something, the better each character will get at it. It's a nice touch, but also one that you can mostly ignore if that kind of thing seems like a chore.

The big score

The game's storyline includes three heists, where you can switch among the three playable ...
This all builds up to the game's heist missions. GTA IV gave us a taste of what's possible with the "Three Leaf Clover" bank robbery mission, butGrand Theft Auto V centers much of the game around these heists. They're an absolute blast, and they go hand-in-hand with the player-switching element.
Spread throughout the game's storyline are the six big heist missions. They're so big, in fact, that you'll often need to spend three or four missions just setting up each heist (things like scouting the location, parking the getaway car, or, hell, stealing a train). This gives a stronger sense of purpose to some of the game's smaller missions, and it helps to build the stakes for the heist itself.
Most of the time, you'll be able to choose from multiple ways of approaching the heist. Do you want to enter the jewelry store with guns blazing, and take the score by force? Or do you gas the employees, disable the alarm system, and sneak in and out without harming any innocents? Many recent games are based on player choice, but being able to plot entire heists from different angles is very satisfying, and lends a lot of replayability value to the game.

Wrap-up

Expect healthy doses of cop chases, helicopter rides, and explosions
We could go on and on about GTA V, but half the fun is in discovering it for yourself. The amount of detail in this sprawling virtual Southland is breathtaking. It's enough to keep you entertained for months.
Grand Theft Auto V is an amazing game, a monumental technical achievement, and a violent ride through the streets of LA, erm, Los Santos. It isn't for children, and it probably isn't for adults who can't see past the blood to appreciate the satire. GTA V shows what the last generation of consoles is capable of, and it also makes it extremely unlikely that you'll play a game this good anytime soon on your shiny new Xbox One or PS4.
Grand Theft Auto V is highly recommended for adult gamers. It retails for US$60, and is available now for Xbox 360 and Playstation 3

The GestureWorks Gameplay program allows any video game running on a Windows 8 device to be played with an on-screen touch controller

The computer interaction experts at Ideum have developed a number of impressive multi-touch smart tables in the past, such as the Platform 46 and the Pano Touch Table, many of which were built around their proprietary GestureWorks software. Now the company is gearing up to release its GestureWorks Gameplay program, which is built around the same engine and allows any video game running on a Windows 8 device to be played with an on-screen touch controller.
With GestureWorks Gameplay installed, players will be able to create their own virtual controllers for any game, which will show up as an overlay on the action. Using a simple tool, gamers can add an assortment of buttons, joysticks, D-pads, switches, and scroll wheels right onto the screen and build a full set of controls from scratch. From there, each item can be moved anywhere on the display and altered in terms of size, color, opacity and labeling to form a unique controller that's tailor-made for a specific title.
Once these controllers have been put together, users will be able to share them with other players through an online community and download any existing ones for a wide range of games. The touch control software even allows for two players to share the same screen and use their individual controllers on co-op games.
Besides adding digital buttons onto the screen, players can also program over 200 different gesture commands, swiping in front of a character to make them attack or tapping above them to trigger a jump, for instance.
Each item can be moved anywhere on the display and altered in terms of size, color, opacit...
Many PC gamers might balk at the idea of replacing a mouse and keyboard with an on-screen controller, but the addition of touch controls could make gaming on the go much easier, especially for people with a large backlog of titles to play. Some games that are less action-focused, like Trine, may actually benefit from them.
Currently, Ideum is allowing people to sign up for a beta of GestureWorks Gameplay through an official website. The beta will be released in October, with the full version of the software slated for November of this year.
In the meantime, you can watch the video below to see how GestureWorks Gameplay's touch controls perform on a number of modern games.

Objective Europa wants to send astronauts on a one-way mission to Jupiter's moons

We’re used to expendable boosters on space missions, but what about an expendable crew? That is essentially the long-term plan of Objective Europa, a group led by Kristian von Bengtson, founder of Copenhagen Suborbitals, that's contemplating the challenges of sending astronauts to Jupiter's moon Europa to look for life. The only catch is that the trip is one-way with no hope of return at the end of the mission.
Made up of like-minded scientists, architects, designers, and former NASA specialists, including diver Pierre-Yves Cousteau and architect Bjarke Ingels, Objective Europa was set up to answer one question: "Is a crewed mission to Jovian moon Europa possible?"
The work is still at the most preliminary stage and the organizers state that they aren't trying to raise funds. At the moment, they are soliciting ideas and crowdsourcing research to look into the feasibility of a manned mission decades from now. They haven't ruled out a robotic mission, but they've made it quite clear that they want to send astronauts to Europa, even if this means sending them with no chance of ever coming back.
Concept image of a submarine on Europa (Image: Evan Twyford)
Concept image of a submarine on Europa
This is different from the Mars One idea of sending volunteers to the Red Planet as colonists without a return ticket, and paying for their upkeep by featuring the settlers on a reality show. Objective Europa appears to be purely self-sacrifice in the name of science.
For now, Objective Europa is restricting itself to discussing the ethics of the mission and conceptualizing manned submarines for exploring the Europan ocean and subsurface bases inside the ice crust. Once this "Phase I" is passed, the group will move on to prototyping, technology trials and manned tests before going on to detailed mission planning for an expedition that may not take place for another 50 years.
The main reason for this extraordinary project is to look for life elsewhere in the Solar System. Especially after recent findings on Mars, Europa looks to be the most logical candidate for finding life in our Solar System. The group also wants to bring a number of other questions to the public's attention, such as: Are we alone in the universe? What is the value of self-sacrifice? How do we capture the pioneer spirit of previous centuries? But the presence of life on Europa is the big one.
Sketches of exploration machines for Europa (Image: Objective Europa)
Sketches of exploration machines for Europa
At first glance, Europa seems as unlikely a place as any in the Solar System to find life. The fourth largest of Jupiter’s moons, its atmosphere is to all intents a hard vacuum at about the same pressure as that of the Moon. The surface temperature drops to −170 °C (103 K, -275°F) and the surface is an endless expanse of ice.
When the first NASA probes flew by in the 1970s, this bleak picture began to change. Europa exhibited a number of suspiciously odd features. For instance, it’s one of the smoothest bodies in the Solar System, criss-crossed with lines and bearing the scars of very few impact craters. It also reflects light much more than most moons with an albedo of 0.24. From all of this, scientists deduce that Europa is tectonically active and, based on estimates of comet impacts, its surface is only about 20 to 180 million years old.
On another moon, this would make it a volcanic hell like it's Jovian stablemate Io, but Europa is covered entirely by ice. This means that something else is going on. Furthermore, Europa has its own very faint magnetic field induced by passing through Jupiter’s gigantic one. This has led scientists to believe that below the ice on Europa’s surface is a salty ocean kept from freezing as the result of heating due to tidal forces.
Two possible versions of Europa's ocean (Image: NASA)
Liquid water is an absolute necessity for life as we know it to exist, and its possible presence on Europa is a very promising sign, though it isn't proof. However, scientists point to life forms known as extremophiles on Earth that can exist in environments that would be fatal to most others. They contend that this means that life could exist in a wider range of temperatures and chemical balances than previously thought. The theory is that if there are volcanic vents on Europa, similar to those in the deep oceans on Earth, they could provide heat and nutrient chemicals to allow at least microbes to live.
Unfortunately, there are also arguments against life being present on Europa. It may be that there isn't really any water, but rather that the ice may extend to the crust and the features seen may be due to “warm” ice circulating. Also the water may be too salty for any life to develop or there may not be enough energy in the right concentrations. Also, the ocean may be 100 km (60 mi) deep. On Earth, this depth would produce a pressure of 9,580 atmospheres, so if Europa does have thermal vents, they may be so deep that the pressure disintegrates any living matter.
If Objective Europa gets off the ground, so to speak, to answer these questions, it will face a number of daunting challenges beside getting someone to go on a one-way mission. Leaving aside the problems of the 600 day passage to Europa that would involve logistics that makes a manned Mars mission look like a row across the pond, Europa itself is a very nasty place.
Sketch of a possible subsurface base on Europa (Image: James Wise)
Sketch of a possible subsurface base on Europa
Along with the extreme cold and airlessness, the moon orbits inside Jupiter's radiation belt, which is about 10 times as strong as Earth's Van Allen radiation belts, and Europa’s tiny magnetic field is no protection. The astronauts would be exposed to 5400 mSv (540 rem) of radiation per day, which is a fatal dose. Also, Europa’s gravity is little more than that of our own Moon, so muscle and bone degradation would be a problem.
Assuming that the explorers could overcome these problems, there’s the question of how to look for signs of life. There is a very remote chance that some parts of the ice crust are only 200 m (650 ft) thick, but it’s more likely to be as much as 30 km (19 mi). Boring through that would be hard enough on Earth, but in pressure suits at the end of an interplanetary supply line, even a couple of hundred meters is a major challenge.
The video below is a teaser for the project.
